RESONANCES (2011)

This uses double-sided fabrics, such as brocades, which have the same colours on each side but in different proportions. One side is lighter; the other side darker. Each fabric used in the work ‘resonates’ with its partner, creating nested rectangles of colour.

It is machine-pieced, hand-quilted horizontally with bright, analogous colours, to emphasize the horizontal plane, and subdued colours in the vertical plane.
